The technology behind noise cancelling
The technology with two noise sensors and two microphones on each earcup detects ambient noise and sends the data to the HD noise-cancelling processor QN1. Using a new algorithm, the QN1 then processes and minimizes noise for different acoustic environments in real time. Together with a new Bluetooth audio SoC (system-on-chip), it recognizes music and noise signals as well as acoustic properties between the driver unit and the ears more than 700 times per second.
 
Improved noise canceling
The WH-1000XM4 headphones use two technologies to maximize noise-cancelling performance. The unique air pressure optimization ensures optimal sound at high altitude, while the personalized noise canceling analyzes the specific sound-influencing characteristics such as head size, glasses and hair and then adjusts the sound especially for you.
 
Ambient sound control
About the Sony | Headphones Connect app adjust the ambient noise so that it is minimized but you still hear important noises such as z. B. Hear announcements when you're on the go.
 
Wireless freedom  - high quality sound

Everyday operation with speak-to-chat
The intelligent Speak-to-Chat feature automatically pauses the music and switches to ambient noise as soon as you're speaking to someone. So you can also have a conversation with the headphones on, e.g. B., if you don't have your hands free. Precise Voice Pickup technology, five built-in microphones, and advanced audio signal processing recognize and respond to your voice. When you end the call, the music will continue automatically. 
 
Automatically adapt to the current situation with the adaptive noise control
Adaptive Noise Control is an intelligent feature that over time recognizes places you visit often - like your work place or your favorite coffee shop - and adjusts the sound for optimal listening pleasure. It also automatically detects what you are doing (e.g. walking, waiting or traveling) and adjusts the ambient noise settings to the situation.
 
Headphones that respond to you
A proximity sensor in the headphones detects whether you're wearing them or not, and then adjusts playback accordingly to conserve battery power. If you take off your headphones, the music playback will be automatically paused. Put it back on and music playback will resume automatically.
 
Quick Attention mode
Would you like to be able to immediately hear voices or noises in the environment? Place your hand on the earcup to instantly turn down the music and hear surrounding sounds.
